Liz Carr in Assisted Suicide: The Musical. DaDaFest International 2016, Unity Theatre
Liz Carr is an award-winning actor, comedian and presenter, well-known on television and in the theatre. She has been a regular performer at DaDaFest since 2001 when she appeared with the comedy group Nasty Girls.
Liz is a lifelong activist in the disabled people’s movement. She has been at the forefront of the campaign against legalising assisted dying. She wrote and performed in Assisted Suicide: The Musical as a way of bringing this campaign to a wider audience, using comedy as a way of broaching serious issues. This subject and campaign has become more urgent today, as MPs voted in support of legalising assisted dying in England and Wales in November 2024.
“Ultimately, we wanted to present photos which best showed DaDa as a vibrant, exciting, and boundary-pushing organisation” - Lottie Bluewater
